End of Life Pain Management is Often Necessary
As a physician with Hosparus Health, I frequently address the misconception that choosing comfort will shorten life expectancy. In reality, many patients live the same amount of time — or even longer — when they are not miserable! Palliative care is a medical specialty that focuses on meticulous symptom management and relief of suffering. It provides an extra layer of support that improves quality of life and allows patients to create more moments and special memories with the people who matter most to them. Palliative care is available at any age and any stage of illness, not exclusively in the final months or weeks. Relief of suffering does not have to wait until the very end of life.
