1. How often should I get my eyes checked?
An annual exam is recommended for all ages. In adulthood, it’s important to closely monitor eye health. The exam is not only to check vision or eyeglasses. We proactively monitor conditions since eye diseases such as glaucoma are easier to treat if detected early.
2. Is there anything I can do to maintain good vision as I age?
First, a good pair of sunglasses or a brimmed hat help protect against early development of cataracts and macular degeneration. Second is good nutrition such as fruit, vegetables, and Omega-3 fatty acids. If it’s good for your heart, then it’s good for your eyes.
3. Should I take over-the-counter eye health vitamins?
