A special someone is not required to feel the love this Valentine’s Day. Today’s Transitions found some unique ways to celebrate the holiday, no roses or candy hearts needed.

Shower yourself with self-care. Show yourself some love by scheduling a massage or spa service. Buy that special lotion or shampoo you’ve been eyeing for awhile. Treat yourself to your favorite meal or dessert. Light a candle, fill up the bathtub with bubbles, and enjoy a relaxing soak.

Brighten a child’s day. Send a card to a child in the hospital with Norton’s Valentine exchange. Choose from a variety of online cards that offer encouraging messages to spread some cheer to a special little person. To send a card, click here.

Volunteer your time and services. A great way to spread love to others in your community is to volunteer at a local animal shelter, nursing home, food pantry, or even your child or grandchild’s school. The gift of your time can make a difference in someone’s day.
Take a personal day. Clear your schedule to do something you enjoy, whether that’s visiting a museum, seeing a movie, or staying home to catch up on your favorite TV show — you deserve it.
