Today’s Transitions has rounded up some events you don’t want to miss before fall fades away. Check out where to go and what to do this November and beyond.
Gather the grandkids and head to Bernheim Forest’s annual celebration of fall at ColorFest on November 4-5 from 10am-4pm. Enjoy family–favorite activities like the corn pit, mud pie kitchen, pumpkin rolling and more, while also experiencing new activities that highlight the science of fall color.
Catch the action at Churchill Downs this November with some live horse racing, food, and fun in this historic venue.
Prepare to indulge! The sweet and savory Louisville Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival on November 4 at Mellwood Arts Center will feature artisan chocolates and premium drinks, along with cakes, cookies, candies, champagne and prosecco. Tickets include chocolate samples, whiskey samples, boozy milkshakes, a wine glass, and Louisville’s first chocolate fondue bar.
Be surrounded in storytelling and song through a new immersive opera, The Artificial Heart, at the Speed Art Museum on November 17 at 6pm. The satirical opera is inspired by the story of Robert L. Tools, who had the first fully self-contained artificial heart transplant in Louisville in 2001. The idea behind composer Nathan Felix’s immersive opera is similar to a flash mob as it blurs the line between performer and audience.
Spark your holiday cheer with a drive through Lights Under Louisville in the Mega Cavern starting November 10 through January 1. Be dazzled by millions of twinkling lights, festive lasers, and captivating light tunnels.
