It’s finally time to celebrate the holidays! If you’re ready to amp up your holiday season with festivities, light displays, and cozy drinks, then December is about to be your favorite month in The Ville.
For those who adore holiday lights, the Mega Cavern’s Lights Under Louisville won’t disappoint! Bring the whole family during December from 9am-10pm to drive through more than 7 million lights shining bright in this underground cave. With themed displays, holiday music, and lasers, kids and kids-at-heart will love every minute of this one-of-a-kind Louisville tradition.
If you need even more lights in your holiday season, don’t forget Gardens Aglimmer at the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. Stroll along at your own pace while enjoying illuminated displays of snowflakes, giant flowers, and glowing archways. And don’t forget two glowing events on December 7: Light Up Louisville has been a tradition for more than 40 years, and Bardstown Road Aglow will feature restaurants and shops offering special discounts through the afternoon and evening before the epic tree lighting.
Paristown and Kentucky Kingdom are keeping the holiday spirit alive all of December. Join Fête De Noël at Paristown with ice skating and the Winter Holiday Village serving up all the seasonal treats you can dream of. Then check out Kentucky Kingdom’s Christmas at the Kingdom for more twinkling lights than you can possibly imagine, 300 Christmas trees, and a snow zone that includes a snow tubing hill!
If you’re on the lookout for cozy and historical, ’tis the season for the Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour. On December 7 and 8, visitors can sneak a peak into the most beautiful homes in downtown Louisville as they dress to impress for the holidays. Lastly, close out your season on December 20 with a family trip to the Galt House Conservatory to watch two classic holiday movies: Elf and Home Alone — bring a blanket and enjoy the snacks and hot cocoa!
